Meatballs
- 1
Prepare the Meatball Mixture
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully combined.
- 2
Form the Meatballs
Wet your hands and form the mixture into meatballs, about the size of a golf ball. Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 3
Bake the Meatballs
Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes or until browned and cooked through.
Meat Sauce

- 5
Make the Sauce
Add the crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and sugar to the saucepan. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 6
Add Meatballs to Sauce
Once the meatballs are done baking, carefully add them to the simmering sauce. Let them cook in the sauce for an additional 10 minutes.
Spaghetti
- 7
Cook the Spaghetti
While the sauce is simmering, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- 8
Combine and Serve
Once the spaghetti is cooked and the meatballs are simmered in the sauce, serve the spaghetti topped with meatballs and sauce. Garnish with extra Parmesan cheese or parsley if desired.
