Method

Preparing the Tartar Sauce

  1. 1

    Mix the Sauce

In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, dill pickles, capers, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Stir until well mixed. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Preparing the Walleye

  1. 2

    Season and Flour the Fish

Season the walleye fillets with salt and black pepper. Dredge each fillet in all-purpose flour, shaking off the excess.

  2. 3

    Sauté the Fish

In a large skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat. Once hot, add the floured walleye fillets. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from skillet and keep warm.

Cooking the Vegetables and Serving

  1. 4

    Sauté the Vegetables

In the same skillet used for the fish, add the mixed vegetables and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until tender. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  2. 5

    Serve

Plate the sautéed walleye fillets with the sautéed vegetables and your choice of side. Serve with lemon wedges and tartar sauce on the side.
