Method

Base Preparation

  1. 1

    Mixing the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Create a well in the center and add the olive oil and water. Start mixing with a fork until the dough begins to come together.

  2. 2

    Kneading

Transfer the dough onto a floured surface. Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.

  3. 3

    Resting the Dough

Cover the kneaded dough with a damp cloth or plastic wrap and let it rest for 30 minutes at room temperature.

Topping Application

  1. 4

    Rolling Out the Dough

After the dough has rested, preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Roll out the dough on a floured surface to a 10-inch round shape, about 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 5

    Adding the Cheese

Transfer the rolled-out dough onto a baking sheet or pizza stone. Sprinkle the cheese evenly over the surface, leaving a small border around the edge.

Baking

  1. 6

    Baking the Dish

Place the baking sheet or pizza stone in the preheated oven. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the crust is golden brown.

  2. 7

    Cooling and Serving

Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Slice and serve warm.
