Method
Chicken Preparation
- 1
Marinate the Chicken
In a large bowl, combine buttermilk and hot sauce. Add the bone-in chicken pieces, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight for best results.

- 3
Dredge the Chicken
Remove chicken pieces from the marinade, allowing excess buttermilk to drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, ensuring even coating. Shake off any excess flour.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large deep skillet or fryer, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Chicken
Carefully place the breaded chicken pieces in the hot oil, frying in batches if necessary. Cook for about 12-15 minutes, or until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 75°C).
- 6
Drain and Rest
Remove the fried chicken from the oil and place it on a wire rack or paper towels to drain excess oil. Let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
Vegetable Side Preparation
- 7
Cook the Green Beans
In a medium pot, bring water to a boil. Add the green beans and cook for about 4-5 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.
