Method

Prepare Pasta

  1. 1

    Cook Lasagna Noodles

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the lasagna noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Make Meat Sauce

  1. 2

    Cook Ground Beef

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until fragrant and onion is translucent.

  2. 3

    Add Ground Beef

Add ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes.

  3. 4

    Add Tomatoes and Seasoning

Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Let simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Prepare Cheese Mixture

  1. 5

    Mix Cheese Ingredients

In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, egg, cooked spinach, and salt. Mix until well blended.

Assemble Lasagna

  1. 6

    Layer Ingredients

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). In a baking dish, spread a layer of meat sauce on the bottom. Place a layer of lasagna noodles over the sauce, then spread half of the cheese mixture over the noodles. Repeat the layers, ending with a layer of meat sauce on top.

  2. 7

    Add Toppings

Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese on top of the final layer of meat sauce.

Bake

  1. 8

    Bake the Lasagna

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Serve

  1. 9

    Let Rest and Serve

Remove the lasagna from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
