Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Mix well.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Once the yeast mixture is frothy, add it to the flour mixture along with olive oil. Stir until a dough forms.

  4. 4

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  5. 5

    Let Dough Rise

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.

Assembling the Pizza

  1. 6

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) to ensure it's hot enough for baking.

  2. 7

    Shape the Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it to a floured surface. Roll it out into a 10-inch circle.

  3. 8

    Transfer to Baking Sheet

Place the rolled-out dough onto a lightly greased pizza stone or baking sheet.

  4. 9

    Add Cheese Toppings

Evenly spread the shredded mozzarella cheese over the pizza base. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese on top.

  5. 10

    Season the Pizza

Drizzle olive oil over the cheese and add dried oregano and black pepper to taste.

  6. 11

    Bake the Pizza

Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.

  7. 12

    Cool and Serve

Remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve hot.
