Prepare the Cheese
Cut the fresh mozzarella into 1-inch squares and set aside.

Set Up Breading Station
In three separate shallow dishes, place the flour, beaten eggs, and panko bread crumbs. Season the flour with salt and black pepper.

Bread the Mozzarella
Dredge each mozzarella square in flour, shaking off excess. Dip into the beaten eggs, then coat with panko bread crumbs, pressing gently to adhere.

Heat the Oil
In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

Fry the Mozzarella
Working in batches, add the breaded mozzarella squares to the hot oil. Fry for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Serve
Serve the fried mozzarella squares hot with rustic tomato sauce and marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
