Directions
- 1
Prepare the Tuna
Preheat the brick oven to 400°F (200°C). Season the fresh tuna steaks with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Place the tuna on a baking tray.
- 2
Cook the Tuna
Bake the tuna in the preheated brick oven for about 10-12 minutes, depending on thickness, until cooked to your desired doneness. Remove from oven and let it rest for a few minutes.
- 3
Make Pesto Mayo
In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise and pesto. Mix well until smooth and set aside.
- 4
Assemble the Sandwich
Slice the focaccia bread in half. Spread a generous amount of the pesto mayo on both sides. Layer the lettuce, sliced tomato, capers, and the cooked tuna steak on the bottom half of the bread.
- 5
Finish and Serve
Top with the other half of the focaccia bread, slice the sandwich in half, and serve immediately.
