Tiramisu Ingredients
Method
Tiramisu Directions
- 1
Prepare the Espresso
Brew the espresso coffee and allow it to cool to room temperature. If using coffee liqueur, mix it with the espresso once cooled.
- 2
Whip the Cream
In a large mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gradually add the granulated sugar and vanilla extract, and continue whipping until stiff peaks form.
- 3
Mix Mascarpone
In another bowl, gently fold the mascarpone cheese into the whipped cream mixture until well combined and smooth.
- 4
Prepare the Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger cookie into the cooled espresso (and coffee liqueur if using) for about 1-2 seconds, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.
- 5
Layer the Tiramisu
In a rectangular serving dish, arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers at the bottom. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers, smoothing it out evenly.
- 6
Repeat the Layers
Add another layer of soaked ladyfingers on top of the mascarpone mixture, followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture. Smooth the top with a spatula.
- 7
Chill the Tiramisu
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld and the dessert to set.
- 8
Serve
Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder using a fine sieve. Cut into squares and serve chilled.
