Dough

Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix the Dough Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add water while mixing until a dough forms.

  2. 2

    Knead the Dough

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  3. 3

    Rest the Dough

Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for at least 30 minutes.

Filling Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare the Filling

In a bowl, combine the ground pork, chopped onions, minced garlic, chopped green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

Assembling the Mashi-Mandu

  1. 5

    Roll out the Dough

After resting, divide the dough into small pieces. Roll each piece into a thin circle, about 4 inches in diameter.

  2. 6

    Fill the Dumplings

Place about 1 tablespoon of filling in the center of each dough circle. Fold the dough over to form a half-moon shape and pinch the edges to seal tightly.

Cooking the Mashi-Mandu

  1. 7

    Boil the Dumplings

In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Carefully add the dumplings and cook for about 5-7 minutes or until they float to the top.

  2. 8

    Serve

Remove the dumplings with a slotted spoon and serve warm with dipping sauce of your choice.
