Tater Tots Ingredients

Method

Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel the Russet potatoes and cut them into quarters. Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and let them cool.

  2. 2

    Mash the Potatoes

Once cooled, mash the potatoes in a large bowl until smooth. Avoid lumps for a better texture.

  3. 3

    Mix Ingredients

Add flour, cornstarch, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder to the mashed potatoes. Mix until well combined.

  4. 4

    Shape the Tots

Scoop out small amounts of the potato mixture and shape them into small balls or cylinders, about 1 inch in size.

  5. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  6. 6

    Fry the Tots

Carefully drop the tater tots into the hot oil in batches. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve the tater tots hot, with your choice of dips or sauces.
