Yogurt Base

Method

Yogurt Base

  1. 1

    Sweeten and flavor yogurt

In a medium bowl, stir together 2 cups plain Greek yogurt, 2 tablespoons honey (or maple syrup), 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1 teaspoon finely grated lemon zest until smooth and slightly airy. Taste and adjust sweetness to preference.

  2. 2

Cover and chill the flavored yogurt for at least 10 minutes if time allows so flavors meld; it can also be used immediately.

Berries & Fruit

  1. 3

Wash all berries thoroughly and drain. Hull and quarter the strawberries. If using banana, slice just before assembling to avoid browning.

  2. 4

If you prefer slightly macerated berries: toss strawberries and raspberries with 1 teaspoon honey and let sit 5–10 minutes to release juices. Otherwise leave fruit fresh for more texture.

Crunch & Toppings

  1. 5

If granola or nuts are not already toasted, warm a small skillet over medium heat and toast 2 tablespoons sliced almonds, stirring, until fragrant and lightly golden (about 2–3 minutes). Cool.

  2. 6

Measure out 1/2 cup granola and 1 teaspoon chia seeds; have mint leaves chopped and ready.

Assembly

  1. 7

Divide the flavored yogurt evenly between 2 serving bowls or jars (about 1 cup yogurt mixture per serving).

  2. 8

Top each bowl with the prepared berries and optional banana slices, distributing fruit evenly (roughly 3/4–1 cup fruit per serving).

  3. 9

Sprinkle 1/4 cup granola (or half of the granola measured) over each bowl, then scatter toasted almonds and 1/2 teaspoon chia seeds per serving.

  4. 10

Garnish with chopped mint and drizzle additional honey if desired (about 1/2 teaspoon per bowl). Serve immediately so granola stays crisp.
