Creole-Spiced Walnuts

Prepare the Walnuts

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the walnuts in a mixing bowl.

Season the Walnuts

Drizzle the olive oil over the walnuts and sprinkle with Creole seasoning, brown sugar, salt, and black pepper. Toss until the walnuts are evenly coated.

Bake the Walnuts

Spread the walnuts in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 15-20 minutes, stirring halfway through, until golden and fragrant. Let them cool before serving.

Prepare the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Add Water

Gradually add water to the flour mixture, stirring until the dough comes together. If too dry, add a little more water.

Roll Out the Dough

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and roll it out to about 1/8 inch thick. Cut into desired shapes.

Add Seasoning

Sprinkle everything bagel seasoning on top of the crackers before baking.

Bake the Crackers

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the cut crackers on a baking sheet and bake for 15-18 minutes, until crisp and lightly golden. Let cool.

Prepare the Sorghum Syrup

Simply measure out the sorghum syrup and set aside for serving with the cheese and crackers.
