Method
Bread Pudding
- 1
Prepare the Bread
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut the brioche bread into 1-inch cubes and place them in a large mixing bowl.
- 2
Mix the Ingredients
Add the dried Bing cherries to the bowl with the bread. In a separate bowl, whisk together the whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, whiskey, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
- 3
Combine Mixtures
Pour the milk mixture over the bread and cherries, ensuring all pieces are soaked. Let it sit for about 15 minutes until the bread absorbs the liquid.
- 4
Bake the Pudding
Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for about 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
- 5
Cool
Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
Whiskey Caramel Sauce
- 6
Make the Caramel
In a medium saucepan, combine the granulated sugar and water. Cook over medium heat without stirring until the sugar dissolves and turns a rich amber color.
- 7
Add Cream and Whiskey
Remove from heat and carefully whisk in the heavy cream, followed by the whiskey and a pinch of salt. Return to low heat and stir until smooth.
Whipped Cream
- 8
Whip the Cream
In a mixing bowl, combine heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Use an electric mixer to whip until soft peaks form.
