Wash the Berries
Thoroughly rinse the blackberries and blueberries under cold water to remove any dirt or pesticides.

Prepare the Liquid Base
In a large pot, combine the water and apple juice. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat.

Simmer
Reduce heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 20 minutes. This allows the flavors to meld and the berries to soften.

Strain the Mixture
After simmering, remove the pot from heat. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a pitcher to remove solids.
Serving

Let the cider cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until chilled. Serve over ice and garnish with fresh mint leaves as desired.
