Method

Crust Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Make Dough

In a large bowl, mix together flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead Dough

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Let Dough Rise

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Sauce Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare Tomatoes

Wash and chop the roma tomatoes. Set aside.

  2. 6

    Cook Sauce

In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add the chopped tomatoes, oregano, and salt. Simmer for 15-20 minutes until thickened.

Assembly and Baking

  1. 7

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).

  2. 8

    Roll Out Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a circle on a floured surface, about 12 inches in diameter.

  3. 9

    Add Sauce

Spread the roma tomato sauce evenly over the rolled-out dough, leaving a small border around the edges.

  4. 10

    Add Cheese and Pepperoni

Sprinkle the mozzarella, provolone, and parmesan cheeses over the sauce. Drop dollops of ricotta cheese evenly across the pizza. Finally, layer the italian pepperoni slices on top.

  5. 11

    Bake Pizza

Transfer the pizza to a baking sheet or pizza stone. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

  6. 12

    Slice and Serve

Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for a couple of minutes, then slice and serve hot.
