Juice Base

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Wash and prepare produce

Thoroughly wash the green apples, cucumber, lemon, and ginger to remove any dirt or residues. Core the apples and cut into chunks suitable for your juicer or blender. Trim the cucumber ends and cut into large pieces. Peel the ginger and slice it thinly to help extraction.

  2. 2

    Juicer method (preferred)

Feed the apple chunks, cucumber pieces, lemon (peeled or halved to remove seeds), and ginger slices through a juicer. Collect the fresh juice in a pitcher. If the juice is too concentrated or thick, stir in up to 1 cup cold water to reach your preferred consistency.

  3. 3

    Blender method (if no juicer)

Place the apple chunks, cucumber pieces, peeled lemon (remove seeds), sliced ginger, and 1/2 cup cold water into a high-speed blender. Blend until very smooth (30–60 seconds). Pour the puree through a fine mesh sieve or nut milk bag, pressing or squeezing to extract as much liquid as possible. Add additional cold water as needed to thin to desired consistency (up to 1 cup total).

Seasoning & Serving

  1. 4

Taste the strained/juiced mixture. Stir in 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper. Start with 1/2 teaspoon if you prefer milder heat. If you want a touch of sweetness to balance the tart apple and heat, add up to 1 teaspoon honey or agave and stir until dissolved.

  2. 5

Add ice cubes to a tall glass and pour the Kickstarter juice over the ice. Garnish with a lemon slice and a mint sprig if using.

  3. 6

Serve immediately for best flavor and maximum nutrient retention. If storing, keep refrigerated in a sealed container and consume within 24–36 hours; shake well before serving as separation may occur.
