Profiteroles
Method
Making the Profiteroles
- 1
Prepare the Choux Pastry
In a saucepan, combine water and butter. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in flour and salt until well combined. Return to low heat and stir constantly until the mixture forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan. Allow to cool slightly.
- 2
Add the Eggs
Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth and glossy.
- 3
Pipe and Bake
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Using a piping bag, pipe small mounds (about 1.5 inches wide) onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 20-25 minutes until they are puffed up and golden brown. Allow to cool completely.
- 4
Prepare the Ice Cream
While the profiteroles are cooling, prepare the toffee ice cream according to your preferred recipe or using store-bought ice cream.
