Pasta and Sauce

Method

Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Cook the Linguine

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the linguine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Once cooked, reserve 1 cup of pasta water and drain the rest.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Sauce

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and crushed red pepper flakes, sautéing until the garlic is fragrant and lightly golden, about 1-2 minutes.

  3. 3

    Add Tomatoes

Add the canned whole tomatoes (with their juice) to the skillet. Use a wooden spoon to break the tomatoes into smaller pieces. Stir in salt and black pepper. Allow the sauce to simmer for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  4. 4

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the drained linguine to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to combine, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time to reach desired sauce consistency. Allow to cook together for an additional 2-3 minutes.

  5. 5

    Garnish and Serve

Remove from heat, then stir in the chopped fresh parsley. Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese.
