1. Prepare the Bread
Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Place the slices of sourdough bread in the skillet and toast one side until golden brown.

Flip the bread slices over and carefully crack an egg into the center of each slice. Season with salt and black pepper.
3. Toast the Other Side
Cover the skillet with a lid and cook for about 3-4 minutes, or until the egg whites are set but the yolks remain runny. If you prefer a firmer yolk, cook for an additional minute.
