Preparation Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Ingredients
Gather all the ingredients, and slice the rye bread if not pre-sliced.
- 2
Assemble the Sandwich
On two slices of rye bread, spread 2 tablespoons of Thousand Island dressing each. Layer pastrami, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese on top of the dressing.
- 3
Top the Sandwich
Place the remaining two slices of rye bread on top of the cheese to form a sandwich.
- 4
Grill the Sandwich
Heat a skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of butter. Once melted, place the sandwich in the skillet, cooking until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. Flip the sandwich, add the remaining butter, and cook the other side until golden and the cheese is melted.
- 5
Serve
Remove the sandwich from the skillet, slice in half, and serve hot.
