Waffle Batter
Method
Making the Waffle
- 1
Prepare the Waffle Batter
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
- 2
- 3
Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients, stirring just until moistened. Do not overmix; some lumps are okay.
- 4
Preheat the Waffle Iron
Preheat your Belgian waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- 5
Once preheated, lightly grease the waffle iron with non-stick cooking spray or additional melted butter.
- 6
Cook the Waffle
Pour the batter into the center of the waffle iron, using enough to fill it without overflowing. Close the lid and cook according to the waffle iron instructions, usually about 5-7 minutes, until golden brown.
- 7
Carefully remove the waffle and keep it warm while you cook any remaining batter.
