Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Pat the ribeye steaks dry with paper towels. Drizzle olive oil on both sides and rub it in. Sprinkle salt, black pepper, and garlic powder evenly on both sides of the steaks.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat (about 450°F or 232°C). If using a grill pan, heat it over medium-high heat.

  3. 3

    Grill the Steak

Place the seasoned steaks on the grill. Grill for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adjusting time for preferred doneness. Add rosemary sprigs to the grill for flavor.

  4. 4

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

French Fries Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel the russet potatoes and cut them into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick. Soak the potato strips in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

  2. 6

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer for accuracy.

  3. 7

    Fry the Potatoes

Drain the soaked potato strips and pat them dry with paper towels. Carefully add the potato strips to the hot oil in batches, frying for about 4-5 minutes until golden brown and crispy.

  4. 8

    Drain and Season

Remove the fries from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Sprinkle immediately with salt while still hot.
