Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinara Sauce

If using store-bought marinara sauce, pour 1 cup into a small saucepan and heat over medium heat until warmed through. If making homemade, prepare your preferred recipe.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C) to ensure it is hot enough for baking.

Assemble the Pizza

  1. 3

    Spread the Sauce

On a pizza dough or flatbread base, spread the warmed marinara sauce evenly over the surface.

  2. 4

    Add Mozzarella Cheese

Sprinkle 2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese over the marinara sauce, ensuring an even layer.

  3. 5

    Layer the Pepperoni

Distribute 1 cup of pepperoni slices evenly over the mozzarella cheese.

  4. 6

    Add Fresh Basil

Tear fresh basil leaves and sprinkle them over the top of the pepperoni to taste.

Baking

  1. 7

    Bake the Pizza

Place the assembled pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.

Serving

  1. 8

    Slice and Serve

Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve hot.
