Method

Brewing the Tea

  1. 1

    Boil water

In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over high heat.

  2. 2

    Steep tea

Once the water is boiling, remove it from heat and add 4 black tea bags. Let it steep for 5-7 minutes, depending on how strong you like your tea.

  3. 3

    Remove tea bags

After steeping, carefully remove the tea bags from the saucepan. You can use a spoon to squeeze out excess liquid from the tea bags.

Sweetening the Tea

  1. 4

    Add sweetener

If desired, stir in 1 cup of granulated sugar or 0.5 cup of honey into the warm tea until fully dissolved.

Flavoring (optional)

  1. 5

    Add flavorings

For added flavor, you can add slices of lemon or fresh mint leaves to the tea. Let it sit for another 5 minutes to infuse the flavors.

Cooling and Serving

  1. 6

    Cool the tea

Allow the tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate it for at least 1 hour until chilled.

  2. 7

    Serve

To serve, fill glasses with ice cubes (about 2 cups per glass) and pour the chilled tea over the ice. Garnish with additional lemon slices or mint leaves if desired.
