Spicy Sriracha Sauce

Chive Oil

Method

Fried Shrimp

  1. 1

    Prepare the Shrimp

In a large bowl, combine the buttermilk, egg, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Add the raw shrimp and let marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Coat the Shrimp

In another bowl, mix the flour and cornstarch together. Remove the shrimp from the marinade, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge shrimp in the flour mixture until fully coated.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Fry the Shrimp

Carefully add the coated shrimp to the hot oil in batches, frying until golden brown and cooked through, approximately 3-4 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Spicy Sriracha Sauce

  1. 5

    Mix the Sauce

In a small bowl, combine the Sriracha sauce, mayonnaise, lime juice, and garlic powder. Mix well until smooth and set aside.

Coleslaw

  1. 6

    Prepare the Coleslaw

In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded cabbage and carrots. In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Pour the dressing over the cabbage mixture and toss to combine.

Chive Oil

  1. 7

    Make the Chive Oil

In a blender or food processor, combine the chopped chives, olive oil, and salt. Blend until smooth. Strain through a fine mesh sieve if desired for a smoother texture.
