Method

Onion Rings Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Onions

Peel the onions and slice them into 1/4 inch thick rings. Separate the rings and set them aside.

  2. 2

    Make the Batter

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Gradually add the beer while whisking until the batter is smooth and thick.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

Coat and Fry the Onion Rings

Dip each onion ring into the batter, allowing excess to drip off. Carefully place the battered onion rings in the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 3-4 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

Fry Sauce Preparation

  1. 5

    Mix the Sauce

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, garlic powder, paprika, and salt. Stir until well mixed. Adjust seasoning to taste.
