Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Beef

In a large bowl, combine the ground sirloin beef with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until the spices are evenly incorporated.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the seasoned beef into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty that is about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing while cooking.

Cooking the Burgers

  1. 3

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until they reach your desired doneness.

Prepare the Bun Spread

  1. 4

    Mix the Spread

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and hot sauce. Stir until well blended.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 5

    Prepare Toppings

Wash the lettuce leaves and pat dry. Slice the tomato into thick rounds and thinly slice the red onion.

  2. 6

    Build the Burger

Spread the prepared bun spread on the inside of both burger buns. Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom bun, followed by the cooked burger patty, sliced tomato, and red onion. Top with the other half of the bun.
