Method

Prepare BBQ Sauce

  1. 1

    Make the BBQ Sauce

In a saucepan, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt. Stir well and simmer over low heat for about 10 minutes until thickened.

Make Burger Patty

  1. 2

    Season the Meat

In a mixing bowl, combine ground sirloin, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until well combined.

  2. 3

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, slightly larger than the burger buns.

  3. 4

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.

Prepare Bun Spread

  1. 5

    Mix the Spread

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, and Dijon mustard. Mix until smooth and set aside.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Build the Burger

Spread the bun mixture on the inside of both halves of the burger buns. Place the cooked burger patty on the bottom bun, followed by crispy onion rings and lettuce. Drizzle with house BBQ sauce, and top with the other half of the bun.
