Cajun Skillet Mac Recipe
Shrimp, blackened chicken and kielbasa sauteed with peppers onion and garlic. All tossed in Cajun mac sauce with cavatappi pasta. Garnished with roasted red bell pepper, shaved parmesan and micro greens.

Pasta Preparation

Cook the Cavatappi Pasta
In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the cavatappi pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Sauté the Proteins
In a large skillet over medium heat, add a tablespoon of oil. Add the sliced kielbasa and cook until browned, about 4-5 minutes. Remove and set aside. In the same skillet, add shrimp and blackened chicken, cooking until shrimp are opaque and chicken is heated through, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and set aside.

Sauté the Vegetables
In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of oil. Add the diced onion, red bell pepper, green bell pepper, and minced garlic. Sauté until the vegetables are tender, about 5-6 minutes.

Make the Cajun Sauce
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until golden. Gradually whisk in the milk, continuing to stir until the sauce thickens. Stir in the Cajun seasoning and cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.

Mix Everything Together
In the skillet with the sautéed vegetables, add the cooked pasta, proteins (shrimp, chicken, and kielbasa), and Cajun sauce. Toss everything together until well combined and heated through.

Plate the Cajun Skillet Mac and garnish with roasted red bell pepper, shaved parmesan, and microgreens. Serve hot.
