Cake Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Cake Batter
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In another bowl, combine the milk, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, eggs, and peanut butter. Mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined.

Bake the Cake
Pour the batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool completely.
Caramel Sauce Preparation
- 3
Make the Caramel Sauce
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the sugar until it becomes a golden brown liquid. Stir in the butter until melted, then carefully whisk in the heavy cream and vanilla extract. Let it simmer for a few minutes until thickened. Remove from heat and let cool.
Whipped Cream Preparation
- 4
Prepare the Whipped Cream
In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form. Be careful not to overwhip.
Assembly
- 5
Assemble the Cake
Once the cake is cooled, spread the whipped cream over the top. Drizzle with the homemade caramel sauce and sprinkle crushed peanuts on top.
