Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Marinade

In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, mirin, sake, brown sugar, grated ginger, minced garlic, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes until the sugar is dissolved.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Salmon

Place the wild sockeye salmon fillet in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the salmon, ensuring it is fully submerged. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to 4 hours for more flavor.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 4

    Bake the Salmon

Remove the salmon from the marinade and place it on a lined baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.

Serving

  1. 5

    Garnish and Serve

Once cooked, sprinkle with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving. Enjoy your Beni Sake with steamed rice or vegetables.
