Method

Preparation of the Striploin

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Remove the striploin from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Cook the Steak

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add a little oil if desired. Once hot, place the striploin in the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.

  3. 3

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing.

Preparation of Fries

  1. 4

    Cut the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into even strips to resemble fries.

  2. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a deep fryer or large pot, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  3. 6

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully place the potato strips in the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  4. 7

    Season Fries

Sprinkle with salt while still hot.

Preparation of Seasonal Vegetables

  1. 8

    Prepare the Vegetables

Wash and trim the asparagus and peel and slice the carrots.

  2. 9

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the asparagus and carrots, sautéing for about 5-7 minutes or until tender. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
