Preparation

  1. 1

    Infuse Vodka

To make basil infused vodka, combine 1 cup of vodka with 1/2 cup of fresh basil leaves in a clean jar. Seal the jar and let it sit in a cool, dark place for at least 3 days. Shake gently every day to help the infusion process. After 3 days, strain the vodka through a fine mesh sieve to remove basil leaves.

  2. 2

    Mix Ingredients

In a cocktail shaker, combine 2 oz of basil infused vodka, 1 tbsp of strawberry rhubarb jam, and 1 oz of fresh lemon juice. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.

  3. 3

    Prepare Glass

Fill a tall glass with ice. Strain the mixture from the shaker into the glass, leaving space at the top.

  4. 4

    Add Tonic Water

Top the mixture with 4 oz of tonic water, gently stirring to combine.

Garnishing

  1. 5

    Garnish Drink

Garnish the drink with 3 fresh basil leaves and a lemon wedge on the rim of the glass for an aromatic touch.
