Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Prime Rib

Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Rub the prime rib with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and fresh rosemary.

  2. 2

    Roast the Prime Rib

Place the prime rib in a roasting pan, bone side down. Roast in the preheated oven for 20 minutes to create a nice crust.

  3. 3

    Lower the Temperature

After 20 minutes, reduce the oven temperature to 325°F (165°C) and continue roasting. A general rule of thumb is about 15-20 minutes per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare.

  4. 4

    Rest the Meat

Remove the prime rib from the oven and cover loosely with aluminum foil. Let it rest for at least 20-30 minutes before slicing.

  5. 5

    Slice and Serve

Slice the prime rib against the grain and serve with your choice of cheese on the side.
