Cooking Directions
- 1
Preparation of Calamari
Rinse the calamari rings under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Set aside.
- 2
Prepare the Breading Station
In a shallow dish, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and paprika. In another bowl, whisk together the egg and milk.
- 3
Coating the Calamari
Dip each calamari ring first into the egg mixture, then dredge it in the flour mixture, ensuring it is evenly coated. Shake off any excess flour.
- 4
Frying the Calamari
In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Fry the calamari in batches for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to remove the fried calamari and transfer to a plate lined with paper towels to drain.

Serving
Serve the fried calamari hot with marinara sauce and spicy Asian mustard on the side for dipping.
