Soup Preparation

1. Sauté the Vegetables

In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions and minced garlic, sautéing until onions are translucent.

2. Add Remaining Vegetables

Stir in diced carrots and celery. Cook for about 5 minutes.

3. Cook the Soup

Add vegetable broth, diced tomatoes, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.

Salad Preparation

4. Prepare the Salad

In a large bowl, combine chopped romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes, diced cucumber, and grated Parmesan cheese.

5. Dress and Toss

Add Caesar dressing and croutons to the salad. Toss well to combine.

Cornbread Preparation

6. Mix Dry Ingredients

In a bowl, combine cornmeal, all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

7. Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together milk, egg, and melted butter.

8. Combine and Bake

Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Pour batter into a greased baking dish and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes.
