Prepare the Cherry Base
In a blender, combine the pitted and halved cherries with the lime juice and simple syrup. Blend until smooth.

Strain the Mixture
Pour the cherry mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a large pitcher to remove the pulp. Use a spatula to press down and extract as much liquid as possible.

Mix the Cocktail
Add the tequila or vodka and sparkling water to the pitcher with the cherry-lime mixture. Stir gently to combine.

Serve
Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the cherry limeade over the ice. Garnish each glass with a lime slice and a whole cherry.
