Cook the Burger
Shape the ground beef into a patty (about 6 oz) and season both sides with salt and black pepper. In the same skillet, cook the burger over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness. In the last minute of cooking, place the slice of Swiss cheese on top of the burger and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.

Assemble the Burger
Toast the burger bun if desired. Place the cooked burger patty with melted Swiss cheese on the bottom half of the bun. Top with the sautéed mushrooms and cover with the top half of the bun. Serve immediately.
