Method
Sandwich
- 1
Prepare the Sandwich
Lay out 2 slices of bread on a clean cutting board.
- 2
Add Cheese
Place 2 slices of cheddar cheese on top of one of the slices of bread.
- 3
Top and Butter
Place the second slice of bread on top of the cheese. Spread 1 tablespoon of butter on the top slice of bread.
- 4
Grill the Sandwich
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Once hot, place the sandwich butter-side down into the skillet.
- 5
Cook Until Golden
Cook for about 3-4 minutes, until the bottom is golden brown. Spread the remaining butter on the top slice of bread.
- 6
Flip and Grill
Carefully flip the sandwich and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the second side is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- 7
Slice and Serve
Remove the sandwich from the skillet and let it cool for a minute. Cut it in half and set aside.
Fries
- 8
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven according to the instructions on the frozen fries package, typically around 425°F (220°C).
- 9
Prepare Fries
In a mixing bowl, toss the frozen French fries with olive oil and salt until evenly coated.
- 10
Bake Fries
Spread the fries in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake according to package instructions, usually about 20-25 minutes, turning halfway through.
- 11
Check for Crispiness
Bake until the fries are golden brown and crispy. Remove from the oven and let cool for a couple of minutes.
- 12
Serve Together
Serve the grilled cheese sandwich alongside the crispy fries on a plate.
