Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it's at the right temperature when your batter is ready.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Baking Pan

Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan to prevent the cake from sticking.

Mixing Ingredients

  1. 3

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well mixed.

  2. 4

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, melt the unsalted butter and let it cool slightly. Then add the whole milk, eggs, and vanilla extract, whisking until fully combined.

  3. 5

    Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures

Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir gently with a spatula until just combined. Make sure not to overmix.

  4. 6

    Add Flavorings

Fold in the cocoa powder and chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Baking

  1. 7

    Transfer to Pan

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.

  2. 8

    Bake

Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  3. 9

    Cool and Serve

Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing and serving.
