Measure the coffee
Using a measuring cup, measure out 0.5 cups of coarsely ground coffee. This will yield about 2 servings of coffee.

Boil water
In a kettle or pot, bring 4 cups of filtered water to a boil. Ensure the water is not too hot to avoid burning the coffee.

Place a coffee filter in the basket of your drip coffee maker. Add the measured coffee grounds into the filter.
