Steak Enchilada Ingredients

Method

Steak Enchilada Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

In a skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil. Season the flank steak with salt, pepper, cumin, and chili powder. Sear the steak for about 5-7 minutes on each side until it reaches desired doneness. Remove from heat and let it rest before slicing.

  2. 2

    Cook the Onions and Garlic

In the same skillet, add diced onion and sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Enchiladas

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the rested steak thinly. On each tortilla, place some sautéed onions, a portion of the steak, and a sprinkle of shredded cheese. Roll the tortillas tightly and place them seam side down in a baking dish.

  4. 4

    Add Sauce and Cheese

Pour enchilada sauce over the rolled tortillas, making sure to cover them completely. Sprinkle any remaining cheese on top.

  5. 5

    Bake

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

  6. 6

    Serve

Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh cilantro, and serve with sour cream on the side.
