Chicken Marinade
BBQ Sauce
Method
Marinating the Chicken
- 1
Prepare the Marinade
In a large bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, paprika, and thyme. Mix well to create a marinade.
- 2
Marinate the Chicken
Add the chicken breasts to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best flavor.
Preparing the BBQ Sauce
- 3
Make the BBQ Sauce
In a saucepan, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Stir well and bring to a simmer over medium heat.
- 4
Simmer the Sauce
Once simmering, reduce the heat to low and let the sauce cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and set aside.
Grilling the Chicken
- 5
Preheat the Grill
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Ensure the grates are clean and lightly oiled to prevent sticking.
- 6
Grill the Chicken
Remove the chicken from the marinade and shake off excess. Place the chicken breasts on the grill and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- 7
- 8
Rest the Chicken
Once cooked, remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for about 5 minutes before slicing.
