Method
Crust Preparation
- 1
Make the Crust
In a large mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, melted butter, and salt. Stir until the mixture is well combined and resembles wet sand.
- 2
Form the Crust
Press the crumb mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie dish to form an even layer. Use the back of a measuring cup or your fingers to compact the crumbs.
- 3
Bake the Crust
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the crust for about 8-10 minutes or until it is set. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely.
Filling Preparation
- 4
Prepare the Filling
In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
- 5
Add Peanut Butter
Add the peanut butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract to the cream cheese. Mix until well combined and smooth.
- 6
Whip the Cream
In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the peanut butter mixture until no white streaks remain.
- 7
Fill the Crust
Pour the peanut butter filling into the cooled crust, spreading it evenly with a spatula. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.
Topping Preparation
- 8
Prepare the Topping
Once the pie has set, melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.
- 9
Add Toppings
Drizzle the melted chocolate over the top of the pie. Then sprinkle chopped peanuts over the chocolate.
- 10
Serve with Whipped Cream
Slice the pie and serve each piece with a dollop of whipped cream on top.
