Main Ingredients

Method

Fried Pickles Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pickles

Drain the sliced dill pickles from their juice and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornmeal, baking powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Mix well until all dry ingredients are evenly distributed.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Wet Mixture

In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until well combined.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Coat the Pickles

Dip each pickle slice into the wet mixture, allowing excess to drip off. Then coat the pickle slice in the dry mixture, pressing lightly to ensure an even coating. Repeat for all pickle slices.

  6. 6

    Fry the Pickles

Carefully place the coated pickle slices into the hot oil in batches, avoiding overcrowding. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Ranch Dressing Preparation

  1. 7

    Mix Ranch Dressing

In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, dried dill weed, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt. Mix well until smooth and creamy.

  2. 8

    Chill the Dressing

Cover the ranch dressing and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
