Method

Burger Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix the Meat

In a large mixing bowl, combine 4 oz of ground sirloin and 4 oz of ground chuck. Use your hands to mix the meats until they are fully incorporated.

  2. 2

    Season the Mixture

Add 1 tsp of salt, 0.5 tsp of black pepper, and 0.5 tsp of garlic powder to the meat mixture. Mix gently to avoid overworking the meat.

  3. 3

    Form the Patties

Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty that is about 1 inch thick.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 4

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.

  2. 5

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, until a nice crust forms. Flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium-rare doneness.

Burger Assembly

  1. 6

    Prepare the Toppings

While the burgers are cooking, wash and prepare the toppings. Rinse the lettuce leaves and slice the tomato and onion.

  2. 7

    Assemble the Burger

Once the patties are cooked to your liking, place each patty on a burger roll. Top with lettuce, a slice of tomato, and a few rings of onion. Close the burger with the top half of the roll.

  3. 8

    Serve

Serve the burgers immediately while hot, with your favorite sides.
