Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Brisket
Trim any excess fat from the brisket, leaving a thin layer for flavor. Pat dry with paper towels.
- 2
Mix the Rub
In a small bowl, combine salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, brown sugar, and cayenne pepper. Mix well.
- 3
Season the Brisket
Rub the spice mixture all over the brisket, ensuring an even coating. Let it sit for at least 30 minutes, or refrigerate overnight for enhanced flavor.
Cooking
- 4
Prepare the Slow Cooker
Slice the onion and chop the garlic. Place them at the bottom of the slow cooker.
- 5
Add the Brisket
Place the seasoned brisket on top of the onions and garlic in the slow cooker.
- 6
Add Liquids
Pour the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce over the brisket, ensuring it is well covered.
- 7
Cook the Brisket
Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 8-10 hours, or until the brisket is fork-tender.
- 8
Rest the Brisket
Once cooked, remove the brisket from the slow cooker and let it rest for 15-20 minutes before slicing.
