Method

Burger Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Burger Patty

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Patty

Shape the mixture into a patty that is approximately 1 inch thick.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

    Cook the Burger

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patty for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness, or until desired doneness is reached.

  2. 4

    Add BBQ Sauce and Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, brush the BBQ sauce on top of the patty and place the slice of cheddar cheese on top. Cover to melt the cheese.

Bacon and Onion Straws

  1. 5

    Cook the Bacon

In a separate skillet, cook the bacon slices over medium heat until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  2. 6

    Prepare Onion Straws

If using store-bought onion straws, skip this step. If making homemade, thinly slice onions, coat them in flour, and fry until golden brown.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 7

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of the burger roll, place the leaf of lettuce, followed by the cooked burger patty with melted cheese and BBQ sauce, crispy bacon, onion straws, tomato slice, and onion slice. Top with the other half of the roll.
