Method
Cocktail
- 1
Prepare
Chill an old-fashioned glass by filling it with ice and set aside while you mix the drink.
- 2
Measure & Combine
In a mixing glass or shaker filled halfway with ice, add 2 oz bourbon, 1 oz Dolin Blanc vermouth (or sweet vermouth), 0.5 oz maraschino liqueur, 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice, 0.25 oz simple syrup, and 2 dashes of Angostura bitters.
- 3
Stir
Stir the mixture for 20–30 seconds (about 20–30 revolutions) until the outside of the mixing glass feels very cold. Stirring chills and dilutes the cocktail without over-aerating it.
- 4
Prepare Glass
Discard the ice from the chilled old-fashioned glass. Place one large ice cube (or two medium cubes) into the glass.
- 5
Strain
Double-strain the stirred cocktail into the prepared glass over the large ice cube(s) using a Hawthorne and fine-mesh strainer (or just a Hawthorne if you don't have a fine strainer).
Garnish
- 6
- 7
Serve immediately. Optionally, add one more dash of Angostura bitters on top for aroma.
